Cryo chamber after sport – recover faster

Anyone who trains hard knows the next day: soreness, a bit of exhaustion, the body needs time. Many use the whole-body cryo chamber after sport – but not immediately afterwards. Effects and tolerability are individual. Here you learn when and how to best use cold at BUZZ Vienna.

Cryo chamber after sport – recover faster

What cold triggers in the muscle

After sport, muscles are well perfused and stressed. Soreness has many contributing factors. Many find cold a soothing finish – effects are individual and not guaranteed.

After the session comes the precious phase: as the vessels widen again, oxygen-rich blood flows into the stressed muscles. Supply instead of congestion – the body has more reserves to repair faster.

Timing and frequency

The cryo chamber should not be used directly after sport. Ideally wait at least 4 hours after training – optimally 12–24 hours later, during the muscle recovery phase. This can support regeneration and allow a new training stimulus to be set sooner.

Many who use the chamber 2–3 times a week find the application pleasant. Effects and tolerability are individual. Cold doesn't replace sleep or rest.

Cold after sport – what's proven at BUZZ

At BUZZ many members combine training and cryo chamber: 60 minutes of sport, then – after sufficient time – 2–3 minutes of cold, then warm clothes, plenty of water, a calm round. Many who stay consistent find their training more pleasant. Individual effects are not guaranteed.
